Ever since a certain fashion designer which I had previously rather liked and blogged outed himself as rather unsavoury, I have decided not to blog his products.  I used to enjoy his shoes.

So I wanted to highlight some of my favourite shoe designers for guys. I know I should have done them on individual small stands, perhaps being held up to the light with a curious face fading into the background....many many thoughts occurred.  In real life we once did a shoot of various dogs wearing expensive designer shoes, with the tagline "She may be a b*tch, but she wears great shoes".  The campaign didn't make it, for some reason.

Instead, today, I bring you "Dr Lorakeet's Gypsy Caravan of Footwear".  Yeah, I know it's not a great title and that you can't REALLY see the shoes that well, but hey, that's how I roll (literally)

Obviously the new Mr Poet release is amazing - and they are really well priced.  For formalwear I like these from Monso (also in studded version) and Deadwool.  Also older non-mesh ones from Redgrave.  For less formal times, I am showing UBU, Purf, 2Real, Soreal and I still like these annoyingly still invisprimmed ones from Ordinary Design.  If ONLY they would have let the invisprim be removed....

Zen and the art of growing a tache

While sitting in my Zen garden, which basically just includes 4 cacti that I was hoping to grow into rude shapes, I realised that there was something missing.

The obvious answer: this Retro Vinyl set from Standby Inc available at this month's Men's Department. I think that playing The Ramones at max volume was hugely therapeutic...and when I got bored I could play on the handheld gaming unit conveniently dangling from around my neck.  After completing the next level, I could sit back, luxuriating in the feel of a full mutton chop style Colonel Angus beard.....all of which are available at this month's cycle of The Men's Department

The beard is worth a highlight, part of a set of different options, all moddable, that come with nice shadow tat layers for added realism.

Monumental....a new release from Mr Poet

I did say I would blog the Deadwool jacket again....so I have.  Hopefully you can see it in all it's glory.

The only reason you may not is if your eyes are drawn to the shoes...which are a new release from Mr Poet. (Fanfare!)  Because of the deep importance of this, I had to do the shoot at a landmark worthy of the content, hence Stonehenge (and no I didn't just accidentally land here)

The shoes come with a HUD that allows you to easily change every single element of the shoe in terms of colour and the resize was super simple too.  Just...go and support this designer because I want more and don't want to have to wait another 9 months for the next release, okay? Okay.

I Canut believe it's not.....

Expect to see me show this jacket again, in a more useful way.  It's a new release from Deadwool (a brand about which I may have opined positively in the past and is currently my default outfit maker).  They do vintage Western mesh clothing, and they do it really well.  This is the Hill Jacket which comes in 6 colours.  I sort of want them to be the new Kal Rau...as in that everyone buys their stuff?  But then again it's nice to look a bit different...but then again I'm a blogger so that doesn't help much does it?

Also included are some items from the new The Men's Department round that started 5 May, even with some furniture included which I am usually bad at.  The throne from EPIA includes single & couple poses.

Haikus again

I was feeling odd last week and took some pictures which ended up mutating somewhat before I finished them. I have done some Haiku blogs before (here for example), simply because I love the medium and I felt like writing some to attempt to explain the pictures.

I put together this outfit to highlight this really nice bit of work from A.S.S.  I can't say that I would wear this in RL mainly as I eat like a bit of a kid and it would just get full of rice.

Emotions and Shadows

I know it's not a big deal, but the fact that I can see shadows for the first time makes me happy. Yay for the new Firestorm viewer!

After the excitement of my interview with Gogolita, I felt slightly undone.  Luckily this newish set of poses from HISPose are called "Emo" and perfectly reflected my melancholy mood.

I'm wearing another of the new releases from FATEwear, as well as the latest hair from Chiaki Xue at Dura.  I'm a massive fan of this one, and it's Unisex.  I picked up my shoes from DECO during their shoe sale for only 50L.

I'm squatting at Sira Westland's house again.  She is hardly ever there, and if I could rez there I would just move in.  Picture below is a bit "artsy" at least in my head.  I may redo this at some point to try to make it more metaphorical, as it may just look like a silly man sitting down on a set of stairs rather than what I was going for.  Alternatively I may start making attempts are meaningful imagery rather than just Cad looking gawky....

Luscious Bombshell: An exclusive and entirely fabricated interview with Gogolita

It was a day like any other.  I was crouched in the bushes 100 feet away, dressed like a shrub with my binoculars pressed hard to my eyesockets when a shape hove into view. It was a shape I recognised, from previous excursions that usually took place at night with my trusty UV goggles and thermos of tomato soup.

"Did you have to crawl under my fence and through the swamp to get in here?"  she said, but I knew she didn't mean it really.  "Can we start the interview now?"  her feet tapping impatiently.  I complied, feeling slightly scared.

Cad  Firstly, I know how glad you are going to be that you are being featured on my blog, as you need the traffic.  I'm quite magnanimous about that, so let's just say "you're welcome"

Juicy  Yeah, I would like to acknowledge for the record that I'm humbled by your largesse, and that if you hadn't actually been camped just outside the limits of my sim and camming in to try to take pictures of me for the last few months I would consider shaking your hand.

Cad  Moving on then, tell me why you like Memes so much?  And did you see my 55-question meme?

Juicy  Yes, I saw your meme: it was unsettling and slightly disturbing, a little like you actually.

Memes are just something that I really love - the thought of asking questions and then answering them and then other people answering the same questions....we should all communicate this way more often and collate the data.  Memes are the future.

Cad  I was sort of expecting a different answer there, to try to get a bit of controversy.

Juicy I shy away from any and all forms of controversy.  Frankly I never understand why anyone gives their honest opinion on anything, it would be much better if we all just smiled at each other and wore pink unicorn masks and made happy neighing noises instead of talking.

Cad  (I fumbled with my notes a bit here and lost the thread)  Err.....Okay.  Is it true that you are actually the root of all darkness within SL, and are planning to overthrow the Lindens and install yourself as Supreme Grand Leader with the aid of an army of ruthless Noobundian mercenaries?

Juicy Yes, next question.

Cad  Final one, and it's a serious one.  How do you react to claims that, in fact, I am your alt.

She smiled enigmatically and raised an eyebrow, leaning back in her chair for a long moment before she responded, in even tones, "no comment, now get out before I set the dogs on you".

Yes the pics are kind of rough and faded, but I was grabbing them while trying to pose.  And you know how her pics are always clean, sharp and precise and that her blog is full of information that is really useful? I wanted to be the opposite and I think I achieved that pretty well.

I do also have a short set of three b/w pics on my Flickr that dramatise the thought process behind the naming of the Juicy Bomb blog.  But I am not going to link it here, as it may not fall under SFW in crazy land.

New neighbour

A quicky post for the morning to remind you that the MOH3 hunt is on from 1st May until 31st May.
A whole lot of great free stuff shown here (credits below) and certainly a lot of the shops are new to me and will be checked out.....

A guy moved in next door to me in my apartment block.  He was playing loud rap music from a van, and seemed to be wearing a lot of bling stuff.  His friends who were equally urban looking gave me odd and quite aggressive looks.  I have been worried about if for a long time as I really like my privacy and quiet.

Turns out, he was moving his momma in, who is in her 80s and quite charming.  He had come around to tell me she was coming there soon and gave me his number and a bottle of champagne (nice but I am giving it to my office) to let him know if she seemed in difficulty.  I'm still chuckling about it.

FATEWear - the search for a new slogan

Damien Fate contacted me to ask my advice on a new slogan for FATEwear*.

As you all probably  know I am considered the most prominent copywriter in the SL marketing world**, and my rates are so exorbitant for creative work that I live on one of those megayachts on my own 3-Sim plot where I use Maitreya shoeboxes as a couture staircase***

Anyway, I came up with all sorts of fantastic ideas but sadly there were "issues" with them raised by Damo's copyright legal advisors****.  Honestly, they really have no appreciation for original thought.

In the end, I just advised him to watch YouTube constantly, find something new and growing and rip off the idea.  My invoice is now in the post.

I am wearing one of the new FATEwear releases called "Seth" and still loving the new Exile hair release.  Amazingly, the awesome Gogolita took my pics too! LINK and LINK.....much more on THAT story later :)
