Not all pictures say a thousand words

I always look forward to reading the Cajsa Lilliehook column on Shopping Cart Disco: What I Like.  It highlights the most interesting SL photography that she sees.  Her comments on the pics she chooses are always insightful and intelligent. While most people who make it in are great at photo-manipulation, the key things (as I see it) are clever composition / angles and the ability to say something with a picture.

From my Flickr contacts some of the most special pictures come from Whiskey Monday and Sleepwalker (Links are to two of my favourite recentish shots by them...but both streams have a wealth of great ideas and presentations).

This blog post shows exactly how hard it is to make pictures that actually say something beyond "Lookie here! It's my buttcrack!"

So anyway, here's the story. I was out on a sky platform the other day and felt the urge to disrobe and do my yoga with thoughts of the cranes flying south to keep me focused.  I was doing fine until the owner of the platform IMd me to ask "What the heck are you doing out there on my porch without pants on?".  Some people don't understand that one has to suffer to try to create art.

There are a couple of (tasteful-ish) shots involving my buttocks on my Flickr here and here if you feel so inclined.

SKIN is Cooper by Belleza from the FAIR event
HAIR is from Boon
POSE is from Bent

Don't forget! The INXS Pun Competition is still open until next Tuesday 4th December.  There are only 18 entries* so far so you have a great chance of winning the top prize

* Actually that's a lie there's only 1 entry so far. Easy money.
