There's an event going on right now in support of Sway Dench. I'm always choked when I see designers come together to support someone in SL, for whatever reason. There have been some odd (and some downright mean spirited) comments about events like this, that benefit an individual rather than a named charity, Frankly that's irrelevant as people have done this spontaneously and altruistically. Many of the brands involved are kinda great, so go and buy something. I would have bought the necklace from Kosh there (will blog it later) whatever, so why is there any problem if the designer is happy to give their profits to benefit someone else?
Yes, there are a lot of people who spend time in SL because we/they have "issues" in RL. If you really have problems then you probably don't have the time and energy to bitch about other people
